Our agenda on Day 4 was to visit 2 chateaus: Blois and Chambord.
We stayed overnight at Best Western Le Vincci Loire Valley Hotel. It was a very nice hotel with moder deco and we got upgraded to a superior room since there were nobody there, except us and another guest. We paid EUR65 for the room.
The next day, we started our day early. We left the hotel at 8am towards Blois. On the way there, we passed by another chateau: Chaumont. Very nice as well but it only open at 10am. We got there at 8.30am and we didn't want to wait. At 9am, we arrived at Blois. It was a nice city. THe chateau is in the middle of the city on the hill facing the river.
Chateau of Blois is a unique chateau because it has 4 wings with different architecture design. THe main entrance is build during Louis XII and has a Flamboyang style (the red bricks).
Another wing has an influence of Renaissance style. The staircase is knows as the Francois I staircase. It has an influence from Italy but still has French influence. We spent about 2 hours here before we had lunch at the city. It was a very nice city. Unfortunately, lots of shops closed on Monday
Our next stop was Chateau of Chambord. It's about half an hour journey. This chateau is huge. The area itself so big. Unfortunately, it was very cold and windy. It would have been nicer during spring/summer.
