Nisfu Sha'aban
|
|
What is Nisfu Sha'aban? Well, it's the 15th day of Sha'aban, one of the months in Islamic Calendar. According to Islamic calendar, the day changes when the sun sets, not after 12 midnight of that day. Once the sun sets, it's a new calendar day already. Today is 14th Sha'aban, and after the sun sets, it will be 15th Sha'aban.
Well, what's the significant of Nisfu Sha'aban?
First of all, today is the day when our 'book' is changed. Each of us has 2 angels. One sits on the right and the other one sits on the left. Their duty every single day, every single hour, every single second is to write down our activities. The right angel will write all the good deeds we did and the left angel will write all the bad things, uhmm... it's actually sinful things we did. The 'bad' and 'sinful' have two different meanings. Some people say drinking alcohol is not a bad thing because everyone drinks, to show that they are 'modernized'. However, it's a sinful thing to do because in Quran, God says [Al-Maaidah, 90 - 91]:
| Quote: |
Bahasa translation:
English translation:
[90] O ye who believe! alcohol and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination of Satan's handiwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper.
[91] Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with alcohol and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will ye not then abstain?
|
So every Nisfu Sha'aban, our book will be taken above and a new chapter of our life will start. At the day of judgement, our books will be revealed to remind us all the things we've done and will be rewarded or punished accordingly.
Secondly, Nisfu Sha'aban, is the day Ibu and Ayah solemnized our marriage. So tonite is Ibu and Ayah's 3rd year wedding anniversary according to Islamic Calendar.

Amin's Birthday Party - Part 1
|
|
Last Saturday afternoon, we had a small birthday party for Amin. Ibu said small because Ibu and Ayah only invited our family members but not friends. The party started at 4pm. Ayah bought Amin a cake, and so did Alang Ida and family. So we had two birthday cakes.
Everybody was interested in the cakes but Amin just want to cut the cake and pick the candle. After everyone had eaten, all the kids went to the swimming pool. Pictures from swimming activities will be posted in Part II.
Menu for the party in the afternoon:
Ibu cooked ox tail sup. Birthday cakes + munchies.
Menu in the evening:
Ibu cooked Mee Jawa, Rice + acar + sambal tumis. Aunty Eman brought fried chicken. Tok Cik brought ayam engkong.
Amin had so much fun. He was tired but excited to see many people. He didn't sleep much during the day. By 10pm, Ibu gave him milk and he fell asleep right away

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to Amin
Happy birthday to you...................
Yes, today Amin turns 1 year old. Oh... my boy is so grown up already... I am so happy that you've grown up as a healthy boy. Ibu pray that you will be healthier, smarter, successful in this world and hereafter, trustworthy and always remember God and your family. Ibu loves you soooooo much.
When Amin sleeps, he looks like an angel... My precious angel.
We had an early small celebration last night. My sister-in-law is starting her first job next week, so we took her out to celebrate (but we didn't have a picture of her here). At the end of dinner, we had a small birthday cake for Amin. He loves the candle and ice cream...

Zoo Negara
|
|
Last Saturday we spent our afternoon at Zoo Negara. When we arrived, Amin was sleeping. But not long after that, he woke up. At first he was confused. He looked around and he saw animals everywhere. Then he got all excited. We were there for 2 hours. Ibu and Ayah were already tired walking.

Short Story: Paku di dinding
|
|
Amin my dear, here's a short story for you (in Bahasa Malasia) and Ibu hope you'll learn a lesson from this story. Always remember to be humble in whatever you say and do. Always think before you say or do something. And always pray that Allah will guide along the way to show you the right path, to be successful in this world and hereafter.
You are going to be the eldest brother and you must show a good example to your younger sibling or maybe siblings. You need to guide them, love them and respect them individually and always remind them of the responsibilities toward God, family and country.
| Quote: | Ada seorang pemuda yang sangat pemarah. Dia tidak dapat
mengawal kemarahannya walaupun ianya hanya satu masalah kecil sahaja.

I can walk!
|
|
Here are some pictures of Amin walking. Lots of people said Amin will probably walk later than other kids because of his 'heavyweight' body. Well, apparently not. He is such an active boy and very alert of his surroundings. Several times he played with remote control and lost it somewhere in the house and Ayah had to find it all over the house
I can climb this too...
Next week Amin will be one year old. Ibu already bought Amin a birthday present. Ibu got Amin a new child car seat from Maxi-Cosi. Amin has been using it for almost a week now and so far he enjoys sitting in it. Mainly now he can see outside better and very comfortable. Yesterday Amin followed Ibu to Ampang Putri Hospital for a monthly checkup. He walked everywhere and played with anything he could get hold on to. We were there for almost 3 hours. Once we finished, Ayah put Amin in his car seat while Ibu made him milk. When Ibu turned around to give him the milk, Amin was already asleep.

I'm independent!
|
|
Yes, Amin is now able to walk independently. Last night, he was walking from living room to the dining room and then to the kitchen without holding on to anything. Oh... I'm so proud of him. He was so excited as well. He kept smiling and singing everytime he walks around. Now he just can't stop walking. Everywhere he goes, he wants to walk and not holding on to anything. He is such a big boy already. Somehow he knows that he's going to be a big brother

Stroll in the evening
|
|
Sorry for not updating this FP for quite some time. Ibu has been sick since last week, and still is. Can't stop coughing.
Anyway, here are some pics taken while Ayah was playing tennis with his friend at Jln Duta last 2 weekends. Amin likes to push his stroller so he could walk as well. By the way, Amin started walking without holding on to anything since last week. He could walk a couple of steps. Then last Sunday, he was walking about 5 - 6 steps on his own. If we asked him to walk, then he only walked about 2 - 3 steps. Amin is 11 months and 1 week. I'm so proud of him
Bye-bye Ibu... see you later...
Let's see how far I can push this thing.
