Our New Home Sweet Home

Alhamdulillah... we finally moved in to our new home on Saturday, Dec. 13th. It was a big adjustment living from a 3-BR apartment to a double storey house with 4 1/2 bedrooms. The boys are enjoying the extra space and the playground right in front of the house!
We renovated a few areas in the house:
- adding kitchen cabinet. Previous owner did not have a kitchen cabinet.
- adding a wood panel at the family area
- change the stairs railing
- paint the whole house
Still have a few more things on the wish list but have to wait till have more savings 
The boys also got new hairstyle...

Amin's First Concert

Amin had his first concert on November 1, 2008 at Auditorium Risda, Jln Ampang. We sent Amin to kindy in August after he turned 3 years old. We sent him to Q-Dees at Taman Setiawangsa since it takes in children from age of 3. We wanted him to learn social and development skills, but not so much learning ABC and 123. Another reason we sent him to Q-Dees because it has a Mandarin programme, which will be good for him because we want to send him to Chinese school when he turns 7. Later when we move in to our new house, it will be closer to his school as well.
I have taken a video but the size is too big to upload. Any program I can use to compress the file size?

Cyberview Lodge, Cyberjaya.
|
|
On Sunday morning, we all went to Cyberview Lodge at Cyberjaya. Aswi was having his C5 training there for three days. We took the boys there to play at the pool area. Around noon we all went home.

This year we celebrated first day of Hari Raya in Kajang at my mom's house.

On second day, we went back to Melaka following Aswi's family.
Spent an evening at Tanjung Bidara, Melaka.

Ramadan and Eidul Fitri 2008

Well Ramadan is almost come to an end and Eidul Fitri is right around the corner. This year, I am very thankful to God for a lot of things. In May, I started working for a new company, and I am enjoying it. This job gives me a flexibility to manage my working hours around my family. I don't have to be physically in the office from 9 - 6 daily. I could be anywhere as long as I can get my things done.
Right after I started my new job, Amin started going to preschool. Since I have the flexibility, I am able to send Amin to school at 8.30 in the morning and pick him up at noon. Or if my boys were sick, I could take them to a clinic, without having to take a day off. I can still continue working from home.
Now I also have a maid. It has been 5 months and so far we don't have any problem with her. She's dependable and can take care of the children. She has 4 children and the last two are about the same age as Amin and Ammar. She manages the house very well and most of the time she knows what to do and doesn't have to wait for my instructions. I hope this will still continue on.
So this year, we are able to break fast at home with a home-cooked meal. Some days my maid cook (she cooks very well too) and some days I do the cooking. I have time to make some kuih for berbuka and also managed to bake 3 raya cookies. Honestly, I don't really have many guests coming over for raya. Most of the time we go out visiting friends and relatives, but feels nice that I have time to bake cookies The 3 cookies are Choc Oat Cookies (thanks Erna for the recipe), Hazelnut Rosettes and Almond cookies.

Lepak @ Great Eastern Mall

Last night after breaking fast, we took the boys to Great Eastern Mall. Aswi wanted his coffee at Starbucks while the kids were having fun running around. They had so much fun last night, as if they just escaped from a prison
I took a video of them using my HTC phone but somehow after downloading to my notebook, I can't play the video.. something to do with the codec. Anybody know? The file is in MP4 format. Other MP4 format taken using my digital camera was ok, but not when taken with my HTC phone. Something missing with the driver??? hmmm...

Merdeka Weekend BBQ

During the long Merdeka holiday weekend, we went back to Kajang for a family BBQ. We also had a birthday celebration for August babies:
1. Amin - 9/8
2. Aisya (my niece) - 24/8
3. Tok Ma (my mother) - 28/9
4. Nazmi and Nazli (my twin nephews) - 29/9

Congratulation Alang Asree on your wedding
|

On Friday, 15th August, my brother-in-law, Asree got married at Raub's mosque. He is the fourth in the family, and the youngest boy in the family. At the age of 27, he finally decided to get married to his beloved Atie. I wish them all the best. There will be lots of ups and downs and I pray that they will go through it together and have a stronger bond between them and a long-lasting marriage.
Day 1 (Friday, 15th August) - Akad nikah (solemnization)
This event is done at Raub's mosque at 5.30pm. Only a small group of people (mainly family members) attending this event.
Day 2 (Saturday, 16th August) - Reception at bride's house in Raub
At noon, we left Bentong to send the groom to the bride's house.
Day 3 (Sunday, 17th August) - Reception at groom's house in Bentong
At 11am, neighbors and relatives started coming. The bride and groom and bride's family arrived at around 1.30pm.
Sunday is also known to be a Nisfu Sha'aban according to Islamic Calendar. So it is my fifth wedding anniversary in Islamic Calendar.
